Toxicology Cluster

Mission
"To generate and apply knowledge towards advancement of toxicological sciences through research, academic and services that will enhance human health and environmental safety."

Vision
"Toxicology research cluster of the international recognition."

Toxicology cluster headed by Dr. Nor Aini Saidin is one of the 12 clusters established in AMDI. The cluster is still in infancy stage as it was only launched in January 2009. The cluster is moving aggressively in the development of research facilities, e.g. In vitro toxicity testing laboratory and Animal Research Centre that complies with various international standards such as OECD-GLP, AAALAC and ISO 13485. Currently, the cluster has 5 members consisting of 1 professor, 3 lecturers and 1 science officer. In effort to propagate the knowledge and skills in toxicology, the cluster offers postgraduate studies via research and mix-mode program (Msc. Health Toxicology).

Cluster Toxicology plays an important role in providing an advanced and comprehensive toxicity testing and research to accomplish AMDI’s objectives, mission and vision in line with USM status as APEX University.

Thus, as carrying a mandate from our nation, it is our aspirations that the establishment of Toxicology cluster  will  strengthen and accelerate the international momentum in research, academic and services of toxicology related.
